Niacinamide, which used to be called nicotinamide is a form of vitamin B3. It is frequently found in many expensive branded cosmetic creams as it protects the skin from environmental damage and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

However, studies have shown that it is as effective as 1% clindamycin in reducing acne and rosacea and almost as effective as hydroquinone as a skin lightener. It reduces the production of oil and is anti-inflammatory.

Zinc is involved in regulating skin turnover so is good at unclogging pores , zinc also reduces natural oil production.
